That's really good! One thing I would work on is getting a more "earthy" feel with the timbre. The composition is definitely amazing and your layering is great, however I was put off a bit by the tone of the synths which had a kind of more clean/ghostly/sci-fi sound. One thing that we want to prominently feature is drums and anything with a warm, wood-like sound, along with bells for the D'ni-centric themes. Think Village entrance Theme from Riven or the Moiety Caves track. Still debating on whether or not to use maral obe, but I'm leaning towards yes. I would avoid the duduk since its overused personally. I'll start a music thread shortly. Ah, okay duly noted about the earthy thing, looking back I see what you mean by that. I was focused on the eerie aspect of it and lost the earthiness entirely. I made it with one of the creepier/less earthy places (The Ashlands, maybe) in mind. Oh, and fair enough about the Duduk, but if you change your mind about that, I actually play Duduk in real life, so I can record it live. :s I'll continue discussing this in the music thread.

Well I guess now that I've gone to the trouble of creating an account I should probably say hi. I'm Jevasi, both here MO:UL and UO back when that still existed, and if nothing else I would like the chance to say that I love the idea behind this project. Honestly the fate of the Rivenese/ Moiety felt like just one of many possible open canvases that the main series was unlikely to ever touch on and so its good to see I'm not the only one who felt that way. I'm not really sure I have any skills that will actually come in handy for building this thing, but I do have a masters in Geology and a fair knowledge of biology so if you guys ever want me to look anything over/ draft ideas I'd be happy too. Also I'm pretty good with maps. Mainly though I'd just like to say thanks for taking this project up.

Thanks jevasi! Glad to have another like-minded Riven fan here. That really was my main inspiration for doing this... Ever since playing Riven and finding out that the picture on the box was not explorable, I kept envisioning how it might look. I would even sketch out still frames as best a 9 year old could do to render what a pre-rendered Riven expansion would look like, allowing us to walk those walkways and enter those strange black huts. Some of my main ideas, most notable the Sacred Valley and having a black desert region go as far back as my ideas as a kid in the late 90s. Other concepts date back to when I was in high school. Even some of the sketches in Adan''s Journal are photo-shopped versions of sketches I did in Grade 10, eleven years ago!
The fact that most of the Rivenese culture and religion before and after Gehn were left mostly blank in the series gave me the impetus to create how I envisioned it all, however taking a lot of rational deduction from the events of Riven and how their society would evolve, etc.

Hey! I'm Sestren from Starry Expanse's discord server. Is this project still alive?
